Recently, the first order of "overall export" of China's high-speed rail, which has attracted worldwide attention, the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail project has entered the stage of ballastless track laying, which marks that the project has entered the countdown to completion. It is reported that all the rails required by the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway are produced by Pangang Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Pangang), and the rolls used for the rail beam rolling mill for rolling the rails are mainly from Sinosteel XTMMC.

The Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway is a major project connecting China's "One Belt, One Road" initiative and Indonesia's "Global Maritime Fulcrum" strategy. It has a total length of 142.3 kilometers and started construction in 2018. It is a landmark project jointly promoted by China and Indonesia. In January 2019, Panzhihua Iron and Steel Co., Ltd., as an important production base of railway steel, automobile steel, household appliance steel and special steel in our country, won all the rail supply contracts.

In recent years, with the development of "high speed" and "heavy load" in our country's railway construction, higher technical requirements have been put forward for the field of railway steel. As the world's largest roll R&D and production base, Sinosteel XTMMC actively explores the upgrade and replacement of NM rolls for rail and beam rolling mills, relying on the "3C" national roll scientific research platforms of National Roll Research Institute, National Roll Technology Center, and National Roll Composite Materials Key Laboratory. In 2018, we successfully developed an upgraded version of the fourth-generation NM roll for rail and beam rolling mills that integrates the properties of ultra-high hardness, ultra-high wear-resistant matrix, stable performance, equal hardness, and no hardness drops, and successfully replaced imports, realizing domestic production. The products have been extended to many well-known large iron and steel enterprises at home and abroad such as Panzhihua Iron and Steel, Baotou Iron and Steel, Wuhan Iron and Steel, Anshan Iron and Steel, Handan Iron and Steel, Turkey Kardemir, etc. Up to now, about 50% of our country's steel, more than 70% of plates, pipes, strips, H-beams, heavy rails, etc. are produced by our rolls. Among them, various types of rolls for large-scale steel rolling mills account for 85% of the domestic market share, and rolls for rail and beam rolling mills account for more than 90% of the domestic market share. For every 100 meters of railway track in China, more than 90 meters are produced by Xingtai rolls.

A person in charge of Panzhihua Iron and Steel Vanadium Rail and Beam Factory said: "Sinosteel XTMMC's excellent NM roll quality for the fourth-generation rail beam rolling mill has achieved the excellent performance of the rails required by the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway, greatly improving the quality of rail beams and improving labor efficiency. It has been greatly improved, and the online time of products is more than 3 times that of foreign products." A few days ago, the user once again placed an additional order with Sinosteel XTMMC, and hoped to continue to cooperate with Sinosteel XTMMC to contribute to the take-off of China's high-speed rail.
