The International Symposium of New Technology and New Products of Plate & Strip Mill Rolls was held in Sinosteel XTMMC on May 27,2010. More than 270 people from domestic and foreign steel enterprises, foreign roll-makers, rolling mill design units and our company attended the meeting. The symposium was sponsored by Sinosteel XTMMC with the theme of exchange and discussion on the international new technology and new products of plate & strip mill rolls to promote the technological progress and development between the upstream and downstream enterprises. It was a big international academic exchange event having greater influence at home and abroad, higher level and a larger number of participants

Jia Jian-ping and Li Xin-yuan, both of them are deputy general managers of Sinosteel XTMMC,  presided over the symposium, respectively. As the host, Sinosteel XTMMC gave warm welcome to all experts to participate in the meeting and expressed sincere thanks to the experts and scholars for their excellent speeches.

At the meeting, more than 20 roll technical experts and scholars from home and abroad made wonderful speeches about the Application technology and development direction of Hot Strip Mill Rolls and the Development of Rolling Technology and the Advancement in Roll Manufacturing Technology at different levels and in different aspects. At the same time, the experts also had in-depth discussions about the basic material research of plate mill rolls, the technical problems occurred in the process of product development and production and the corresponding solutions. The experts were given warm applause for their lectures.

The research and development personnel of our company also introduced the recent development, production and application of our plate and strip mill rolls to the participants. The activity displayed our scientific achievements in the development and application of plate and strip mill rolls and was highly praised by the participants. The representatives from Baosteel, Wuhan-steel and Handan-steel signed new product development agreements of new roll development or reached the intents on the development of new rolls with us on the spot. Some other steel companies said they would further enhance the cooperation with Sinosteel XTMMC to accelerate the updating and upgrading of new rolls.

During the break, the participants visited our exhibition hall and our national level technology center. They said that such high level academic exchange on rolls was the first of its kind in the world. The symposium not only showed the world’s up-to-date technology and new product achievements of rolls, but also fully displayed the strength and influence of Sinosteel XTMMC, and it was a feast of new technology and new products of plate and strip mill rolls.
